I bet you're wondering where I might happen to get all my mad phat webpagin' skillz. Well, I done learned 'em, ma... no, really... I pretty much taught myself everything I know about puters (puters as in computers, just to clear that up). Ever since my senior year of high school, I've been spending the good majority of my time working with puters and mainly designing webpages. So I figured, "what the heck, I'll go to college and do it for a living." So here I am, at what I consider to be the best university in the State of Michigan, and who knows, maybe even the country? :-) Anyhoo, it's Michigan State University (Go Green!). So for the next 4 years, if I tend to refer to myself as a Spartan, you know why. But I'm studying computer science here at MSU and so far it's treated me fairly decently. My first semester didn't exactly turn out the grades I had hoped for, but I guess everyone doesn't do that good the first time around, right? Comeon, I need some comfort here! Getting back to my point... which actually, I don't have the faintest idea what it was. Oh well. Currently, I'm just knocking off some university requirements before I actually hit the hardcore computer classes, which should start sometime next year. My schedule looks like something of the following: ISS 210 and ATL 150 (University Requirements), BS 110 and MTH 132 (Major Requirements). MTH 132 is the class I'm particularly afraid of... considering that I nearly failed algebra II my junior year and just got by pre-calc last semester, I'm just terrified of Calculus and my very (not to be racist, just pointed out the langauge difference) Asian Professor. But with the help of my girlfriend and the math help room, I'm expecting to do well.
Really though, there's a hard reality to be faced here. Though I like to try and forget about it, I'm sure most of you have heard about MSU's little reputation, one for the immature drunken students who go to school here. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying people just plain shouldn't drink. I just happen to think drinking should be done responsibly. If I were to go out and have a couple drinks, I certainly wouldn't run around and embarrass myself and fellow peers. And you definitely wouldn't find me burning couches or tearing off my clothes while atop a light post. That's just gross. Let's just say you can drink anywhere and anytime. So why does everyone feel the need to do it so irresponsibly in college? Get a clue, people.
But getting back on track. MSU really is a great place. The campus is really nice and I thoroughly recommend that if you're ever in the area, just stop and take a walk around. You'll like it. Oh, and I'd just like to take this moment to point out that MSU's men's basketball team is running away with the Big Ten title, as is the Hockey team with the CCHA title... again. In your face, U of M!!!
